Marilao is located northwest of Manila, and with an approximate distance of twenty kilometers between them, it will only take fifteen minutes to get to Marilao via the North Luzon Expressway and about thirty minutes via Mcarthur Highway. Marilao is located in Bulcan which belongs to Region III or Central Luzon and is geographically located at points 120° 57' longitude and 14° 46' latitude. A third of its total area of ​​2,625 hectares is generally flat and comprises mainly agricultural land and residential subdivisions while the remainder, predominantly to the east, is mainly composed of rugged areas along with some hilly portions. The climate is generally warm and sunny all year round, except for occasional rain in some areas from June to October. With a total population of 160,452, most of them are Catholic with a high literacy rate of ninety-eight percent and Tagalog as the main dialect. In the southeastern part of Marilao is one of its barangays, barangay Lias, which borders barangays Lambakin to the north, Saog to the west, and Ibayo to the south. It is the third most populated barangay with about 11,139 residents and a total area of ​​98.81 hectares.
