Self-Assessment Reflection Paper VAKESEN SIVASITHAMPARAMMHR405-031GORDAN WANGThe "Winter Survival Exercise" activity was a great experience that effectively brought out the personality, perceptions and attitudes unique to each individual. The exercise relied on individuals changing certain beliefs and opinions to contribute to the team process. People like me who are very self-sufficient needed to open up more to other people's ideas for the team part of the exercise to work. I would say that my group worked in a very organized and collected manner. However, there were differences of opinion on some topics. Decision-making skills, personality factors, and differences in communication skills in my group led to some variations in opinions. Although the group faced disagreements due to the uniqueness of each member, we were able to compromise and bend our individual processes for the betterment of the team. The winter survival exercise confirmed my perception that working individually tends to lead to better performance. My overall individual score which was “22” was much lower than that of the group which was “44”. The exercise showed that working in a group does not always lead to better performance. The three self-assessments I chose to incorporate into my reflection are the “Big Five Personality Assessment,” “What is your preferred decision-making style?” and “Are you a team player?”. The questions I will answer during the reflection will refer to the three self-assessments I have chosen. According to the "Big Five Personality Theory" self-rating is very high in terms of agreeableness and extroversion, indicating that I am very outgoing, talkative... middle of the paper... rational behavior.
