Kidnapping of Paloma SapienCrunch. Heidi looked up, looking from side to side. Crunch. She had thought she was alone. Crunch. Her heart beat faster and her hand tightened the heart on her necklace. Crunch. She quickened her pace when she heard footsteps coming from behind her. His hand began to cramp from holding the necklace so hard. Crunch. Heidi slowly turned around. A dark figure stood about ten feet away from her. She panicked when she heard the footsteps behind her get faster. "Who's there?" he said, continuing to walk. The figure was silent. Only the sounds of heavy breathing came from his mouth. "What do you want?" The breathing became louder as the figure approached. Heidi let go of the necklace and turned her head one last time before taking off running. The figure's footsteps became louder. It was getting closer. Tears filled Heidi's eyes. "HELP!" His cries for help were followed by silence and tears began to flow down his face. He grabbed the phone with shaking hands and dialed 911. Ring... Ring... Ring... "Come on, please." Heidi screamed. “911, what is your emergency…” The figure had reached Heidi and knocked the phone out of her hand. It broke into pieces. "No!" The figure placed one of its large hands over Heidi's mouth. He muffled his screams. Heidi tried to elbow the man in the stomach, but he grabbed her arm before she could do anything. The man grabbed her and struggled to carry her into an alley. Heidi's heart was beating faster than she had ever heard it beat before. He was still trying to scream, but each time the sound was muffled. "Stop it." the man said, slowly. Heidi kept screaming, trying to break free from his grip. "I'm warning you." Her face was red from crying and... in the center of the paper... she had collapsed. in pain and Heidi grabbed the bowl and hit the man as hard as she could on the side of the head with the bowl. The man fell against the wall and Heidi ran away. She had no idea where she was going, considering she had never left that room. "GET BACK HERE!" She began to hear footsteps on the concrete ground, her memory flashing back to when she had been carried. Heidi ran as fast as she could towards the first door she saw. He shook the doorknob. It was locked. He tried next door. Blocked. The footsteps got louder. The man was getting closer. He ran to another door and turned the knob, the door opened and revealed a grassy area that looked like it had been going on for days. There was no time to think, only to run. Without looking back, she ran towards the horizon, hoping it would take her somewhere safe. Somewhere like home.
