A wise woman once said, “No matter where you come from, every child's dream stands.” Hanna Rosin in “The End of Men” doesn't seem to believe that men's dreams can come true with the rise of women dominating all aspects of life. Rosin is concerned about the rate at which men are falling behind in education. Rosin brings the article to life by introducing the idea of sex selection in the 1970s. Rosin then goes on to demonstrate that 1980s feminists were concerned about the future of women in society. Furthermore, instead of the vast majority of people choosing to have boys, the trend has changed in favor of having more girls. Rosin provides an example of biologist, Ericsson and family. She says girls fly high, while boys drag their feet in their education. Rosin firmly believes that women have the upper hand in their education, workplace and even in their personal relationships. As men are losing their grip on the power they have held for so long. He thinks it's a trend that will continue and will never change. Rosin tries to demonstrate that men are falling behind in their education, but her arguments about women's progress in education do not convincingly demonstrate that this is signaling the "end of men" in education. Rosin rightly argues that women have made progress in education. their education, but does not convincingly demonstrate that they are dominating. Rosin states that "women dominate today's universities and professional schools: for every two men who receive a bachelor's degree this year, three women will do the same" (46). We don't know what the trend has been in terms of data, women are flooding some universities, but there are no statistics to show that every year there are more women than men overall... half of the paper... the assumptions about progress of women in education do not demonstrate this convincingly is signaling “the end of men” in education. It is legitimate for society to be concerned about the rate of retardation of men. Even though Rosin thinks women are dominant in America, he forgets to include women from other countries whose voices will never be heard. It will be difficult to convince men to go back to school, you can't force anyone to do what they are not willing to do. If this trend were to continue, we would see generation after generation of women use the knowledge they gained during their education to do things that would change the world. Every child deserves a quality education. When I was younger, my mother always told me that I should be grateful for having the opportunity to go to school, because there are some people in this world who will never have the opportunity to go to school..
