Visionary and ethical leadership are at the forefront of organizational success. The visionary leader can see where he wants to be and chart a path to the finish line. Ethical leaders lead by knowing and doing what is right. The purpose of this essay is to showcase Andrew Carnegie's visionary leadership by examining his struggle with ethical leadership. Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish immigrant who moved to New York in 1848 (Luke, n.d.). He rose from a poor immigrant to a crucial figure in history. This essay begins by examining Carnegie's visionary leadership characteristics. It showcases his vision, the path he has taken and the results of his dedication. Additionally, several examples of Carnegie visionary leadership are linked to the SNCOA course fourteen curriculum. The next section focuses on Mr. Carnegie's ethical leadership challenges. The section examines areas where ethics have not been taken into account. Additionally, examples and comparisons of absence are taken into account. The final section relates visionary leadership and the lack of ethical leadership in relation to my personal experience. Furthermore, this section reveals the impact and changes in my leadership style. We begin the essay with a look at the visionary leadership of Andrew Carnegie. Visionary leader Andrew Carnegie created the American steel industry and did more than anyone else to push America into the modern era through his visionary leadership (Solyak, 2014). Carnegie soon began working for the New York-based railroad industry. According to Solyak (2014), “Carnegie stunned his bosses with his many risks, his audacious ambition and rule-breaking, his failure to always take responsibility, and… middle of paper… his style of transformational leadership and how he used extrinsic rewards to motivate his people to follow his vision. Furthermore, Carnegie is a creator and a refiner. His methods were solid and he succeeded through his influence and personal drive towards success. When it came to ethics, Carnegie was not at the top of his game. His relentless drive for perfection led him into many ethical pitfalls and the continued absence of intellectual traits, universal intellectual standards, and obstacles in critical thinking we examined how Carnegie's demonstration of transformational leadership and unethical leadership personally affected my views on my leadership Visionary leaders balanced with ethical leadership are unstoppable. They create a productive and successful environment essential to leading the United States Air Force into a productive future.
