The film I chose to review is called The League of Their Own, and is based on a true story that took place during the Second World War. The main focus of this film is the close-up view to see that although baseball was a sport meant for men, women would be able to be just as good, if not better, than man. Even though it was women who would play a man's sport, they would still have to act and be a woman and abide by certain rules. During the height of World War II, many baseball players were drafted into the military, therefore making it impossible for the baseball season to continue. Even though baseball seemed dead because there were no male players to play, one individual had the idea that women could participate in the sport and the baseball season could continue. The film showed women coming to auditions, which took place at a real ballpark in Chicago.
