Ideal Managers and Leaders The idealistic leader and manager is our Heavenly Father. Today people lose the will to understand and apply biblical references to their daily activities. The Holy Bible teaches us to plead for the works of God and to seek refuge in Christ. By seeking knowledge of the Holy Bible, we learn to think, act, and speak virtuously. It is essential to know God and what lifestyles we must choose and adapt to while on Earth. There are numerous examples of effective leaders, but a perfect manager or leader does not exist on Earth. According to Bateman and Snell (2009), “Management is a challenge that requires constant adaptation to new circumstances” (p.6). The readings from Matthew 25:14-26 teach us that no matter what type of supervision we have, it is our duty as public servants to view every opportunity as a way to demonstrate our acquired abilities and reap honest rewards. Validating our beliefs and interpreting those beliefs in our work and daily activities can transform us into first-level managers. First-level managers serve as the overall management and effectiveness of the organization (Bateman & Snell, 2009). Understanding individual roles in a company can be very challenging, but knowing each employee's values, assumptions, beliefs and expectations (VABE) can benefit the company. VABEs help the manager understand what motivates a specific employee to do his or her best or what harms his or her ability to work efficiently. When managers know their employees' VABEs, they can place them in the right positions and departments. When employees are placed in the right departments and given the right responsibilities, better results are achieved in terms of quality and quantity... middle of paper... where and how He sees fit and we will move when we hold back from prosper. However, there are numerous leaders and managers to follow; we must first seek God and allow Him to work miracles in our lives to make us top-level, mid-level or front-line managers. Good managers make good leaders, and good followers are the foundation of both. Learning to survive, thrive, and make the right decisions in the face of our companies' laws and regulations transforms us into competent, trustworthy managers. For Colossians 3:17 states, “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father” (Colossians 3:17, NLT).
