Anita Desai, an exceptional writer, has written many stories. One referenced in the textbook, A Devoted Son, is a short story simply about a boy in India who had won a scholarship for a college career in which he continued to work. However, having said that, the son in the text becomes a doctor of sorts. With his school career this young man will have to make a choice in history, which will lead him to take care of his father. Between the original planning of A Devoted Son and the final product, written by Anita Desai, she in fact got a different result than she expected. In fact, when Desai planned her writing, it was very different from what she was used to. A short story, like A Devoted Son, was something very difficult, but it was a current story that will probably be used in future texts. Once again, between its original text, A Devoted Son and the final product there are many differences and similarities in how the story was written: the old man had lost his mind, the son was left to take care of his father, and finally the old man embarrassed his family by wandering the streets. First, in the text A Devoted Son, Rakesh's old man had lost his mind. Throughout the text we understand that as his old man gets older he becomes weaker every single day of his life. A great analogy to think about is that our parents are often thought to take care of us; however, in many cases it is the exact opposite. In fact, we take care of our parents, that's usually how it works as our parents get older. However, in the text A Devoted Son it is stated: "Of course these conversations, shouted over the hedge by two rather deaf old men aware that they were being heard by the whole family..." That said, this smart and intelligent woman is able to compare ideas between the two stories to add dramatic thought to the process of reading this as you read the pre-writing of this story, compared to the final copy, you can make distinct accusations about something that happened versus something he added Yet, this is not something wrong, however, this is something common among the most creative writers , throughout this text there are some similarities and differences in the text, but the three which could in fact be the same in both the preliminary and final stages would be the fact that many old men become crazy as they get older, Rakesh who takes care of his old man, and finally the fact that the man embarrassed his family in a certain sense.
