A journey through life and college to a new career If I have the opportunity to manage a project from start to finish, similar to the project worked during my senior year of college, would I be up for the challenge? The answer to this question is a clear yes. Why did I come to this conclusion? Life has already opened many different paths for me until my graduation. Choosing the right path is always a challenge. I finally found my offering to society through my life experiences through my parents, being a single mom, job layoffs that led to my journey through college. Let me start by explaining where I come from. My father, who is an architect, is very artistic and attentive to detail. I carry those same traits with me and apply them naturally to everything I do. I began drawing electrical railroad circuits on a drawing board in 1992. As time went on, I began to transition to drawing on computers and slowly learned to write programmable scripts to speed up processes or automate functions within the software. drawing. In addition to the skill for manufacturing and detailing, I acquired the position of managing the drafting and computer-aided design team. At this point I also discovered that I really enjoyed working with people and guiding them towards project success. Fast forward about fifteen years. I became a single mother and had to learn to juggle family life and career on my own. I had new challenges to overcome, quickly learning new management skills that apply to my overall results. However, the challenges don't stop there. I was learning database creation "on the fly" at work. I've found yet another skill that I like. The company I worked for gave me a project that I had full control over… mid-paper… allowing me to put all the skills I learned in college into practice and hone them to perfection. With a broad spectrum of studies that can be looked at in information technology management, the sky is the limit for gaining a better understanding of how technology works in our society and how to manage it. College gave me confidence, a sense of accomplishment, and the tools to take on bigger projects, as well as ways to improve my skills. Since attending college, I am able to take on new challenges in both career choices and life. Today I am a completely new person, with a completely new vision of who I am and what my capabilities are. I have set achievable goals and have the tools to get there. The opportunities are endless. So yes, I am ready and welcome the opportunity to manage a project from start to finish similar to the project I did during my senior year of college.
