Topic > The Impact of Propaganda - 665

Whether negative or positive, propaganda influences our lives on a daily basis, sometimes without us even recognizing that it exists. The main goal of propaganda is to try to sell your product or idea to other people, one of the main forms of propaganda occurs in the news. Propaganda is used for companies and trendsetters who want to get their products and ideas out into the world so they can potentially become popular. Smart propagandists have discovered that to create the best propaganda, the viewer doesn't even have to realize that the product or idea is being sold to them. Propaganda creates an extremely large impact on us and is sometimes mistaken for "just another advertisement" when in reality it changes the way we live our lives. Many viewers believe and trust everything propaganda shows us, although not all propaganda is verifiable or in agreement with the facts. Propaganda is usually exaggerated to try to get the point across to the viewer. Propagandists use many techniques such as glittering generalities, which make their product or idea seem fantastic and grandiose when in reality it may not be. Propagandists also do the opposite, making something seem extremely terrible, when it might not even be that bad because they want viewers to dislike that certain idea. This technique is widely used in the news to pass bills or to try to elect a candidate desired by propagandists. They use the blind minds of propaganda viewers to their advantage to get their message across to them. When people see propaganda, they may receive false information lying to them. This gives viewers an opinion on the topic, although that opinion was created on false or exaggerated information not allowed......middle of paper......if they had no prior knowledge of the topic. Propagandists use every possible opportunity to exploit the blind mind of the spectator to their advantage. They will lie, exaggerate, and do anything to make people believe what the propagandist thinks is right. It is almost impossible to present something without being biased. Imagine writing an article about a war between your country and another. The writer would definitely be prejudicial towards his own country because without it the article would be boring and based on facts. For example, this essay is biased because it is my opinion on propaganda while others may have a completely different one, I am trying to sell you or convince you that my position on propaganda is the right way to think and that you should too. Propagandists use the news as a propaganda machine and hide propaganda in everything they can.
