Topic > Design of a Gas Pipeline - 1919

2.1 Introduction Gas pipeline is used to transfer fluids liquids or gases from one place to another. Pipeline design refers to piping engineering. It is an application of the basics of petroleum, mechanical and chemical engineering, dealing with the design, testing, analysis, inspection and maintenance of pipelines. At the industrial level, all pipeline-related activities are achieved with international compliance and guidelines in addition to industry codes and standards, as well as permissible laws, regulations and local authority assemblies. Pipeline system is a network of pipes or a set of pipelines using fittings, valves and other particular components to achieve the required method of transferring fluids (oil or gas) from one location to another location. It is the effective method to transfer fluids with no or significant loss of fluid quality and properties. The plumbing system that supplies water to our home is a common example of the piping system. Usually, pipeline engineering is used through the following industrial systems: pipeline refrigeration and heat transfer system. Pipeline liquid transportation and distribution system. (Pipes for liquids). Gas transportation and distribution system via pipelines. (Gas pipelines) Supply system via pipelines. Pipeline process system. Pipeline transportation of sewage systems. The production and distribution of natural gas is considered a very important factor in the oil economy. Millions of homes and industries served through a pipeline network of approximately 800,000 miles, dependent on gas for heating and vital services (Rothfarb, 1969). Natural gas transportation systems comprise a collection of supply fields where natural gas is produced. Natural gas is transported by… middle of paper… finished investment price of around £5.7 billion. The pipeline connects the Nile at three points. It is therefore believed to be Egypt's largest gas pipeline.
