Violence has become a major problem not only for the United States, but also for the world. An example of violence in the United States is the story of Craigslist killer Miranda Barbour. Violence doesn't just happen between humans. Unfortunately it has also been applied to animals. Japanese whaling is spreading throughout the world. The Craigslist murder story is truly horrific. Miranda Barbour and her husband Elytte Barbour both killed Troy LaFerrara together. They put an offer on Craigslist offering LaFerrara some sort of relationship with Miranda and he bought it. When the pair managed to lure LaFerrara into Miranda's car, she stabbed him twenty times with a knife and Elytte came from the backseat with a rope and choked him to death. Then they dumped his body in someone's backyard. When police found the body, they used his phone to trace the Barbours. Since they were arrested, both have said terrifying things. Elytte said they had attempted to commit other murders, but failed. Miranda said that since the age of thirteen he has killed twenty-two people. The instigators failed to prove any of them. This all happened between November and December 2013. Since then, Miranda has come out and made more comments. She threatened to kill more people if she was ever released. The police have been trying to figure out whether or not he is lying about the murders he claims to have committed. If he had indeed committed twenty-two murders, he would receive the death penalty. Whales are beautiful creatures and don't deserve to suffer like this. Additionally, there are many other meats available to eat. The population of other animals is much higher than that of a whale. To conclude, violence has become a big problem anywhere in the world. From the United States to Southern waters, everyone must face it. The Barbours, better known as the Craigslist Killers, are still in prison awaiting punishment for the murder of Troy LaFerrara. Many countries are still fighting with the Japanese to end whaling, but they continue to fail. I dream that one day we will live in a world where humans, not animals, will have to deal with violence.
