Topic > Cultural Diversity in Canada: Chinese Canadians

Chinese CanadiansCanada is known for being a country filled with all different types of people from all over the world. The community I chose to delve into is the Chinese Canadian community. The demographics of this community are that the majority of the Chinese population residing in Canada was born outside the country, 60% of the Chinese population has no religious affiliations, and 89% of the Chinese population has in-depth knowledge of one of the national languages of Canada. The importance of these demographic data is that they show how the Chinese community has evolved over many years and how it has changed or, one can say, adapted to Canadian society. Most of China's population was born outside Canada; this is important because it shows how this community, even from a completely different country, has joined together with other communities to do better things. 60% of Chinese have no religious affiliation; this shows that even though all Chinese people do not have a religious affiliation, they still gather with their community on special occasions. 89% of the Chinese population speaks one of the Canadian languages fluently; this shows that this community is trying to maintain a relationship with society by learning to communicate in their language. In conclusion, this community evolves and adapts to this society and tries to maintain a relationship with society. Prejudice means dislike, hostility, or unfair behavior resulting from unfounded opinions. Every community has faced some kind of discrimination or prejudice against them based on unnecessary reasons. It's easy to say something but it takes someone who has lived it to understand it. The Chinese community has faced many prejudicial acts, but what no one can forget is the anti-Asian sentiment that was... at the heart of the paper... traditions in its culture. I would like to test this hypothesis by obtaining comprehensive information about the community across the broad population and in particular characteristics/traits. Methods: • Statistics • Surveys • Interviews • Testimonials Primary sources: • Research reports • Biographies • Personal documents • Mass media (produced during the time of the events) Secondary sources: • Magazine articles • Newspaper articles • History books • Commentaries • Essay To make this report error free, I would ensure that: • Information is collected from a reliable source • Follow up with the data findings (Do not make any changes) • No unreliable answers will be included for any question • Interviews are conducted with someone who is a reliable source of events that occurred or were part of the situation All these steps would be taken to provide a bias-free report.
