Entertainer # 18 Be your best When you look at your life, what do you see? Is it full of joy, happiness and right decisions? Or is it full of regrets and unfulfilled desires? The saying Be Your Best Self is an approach by which many can live their lives achieving everything they would and could desire. Now, how to put this saying into practice in your life? For me it all started with small acts of kindness, every day, with the virtues of being responsible, healthy, involved, studious and ambitious. One way to demonstrate how devoted I am to implementing these values in my life was to find a service project that helped me be my best self. I decided to take on a service project that affects someone dear to me, and it's something I do every day. My sister Miriam was born with some learning difficulties and does not function as quickly as other people her age. He needs help in almost all aspects of life. So every day I get up in the morning, around 5:30, to start my daily life, and his. I wake her up, make her breakfast and help her choose an outfit for the day. I also do her hair and make sure her hygiene is appropriate for the day. This process starts the same way every day before I get ready to go to school for the morning Jazz Band at 7am. The experiences I had with her empowered me, humbled me, and helped me be my best self. Now how can I apply all the principles to be my best self in these daily trials? Well, for starters, I'm responsible for my sister. I have to make sure that the meals she eats, the clothes she wears, and the choices she makes help her in her life. He needs to look presentable for school, and if I had...... half the homework... prize that his support would still leave me on top. She always thinks I can do it, and because of her I know I can try my hand at anything and be successful. With all the times I help Miriam achieve her goals, or even just get her ready for the day, she has been an inspiration to me. I also sometimes think that despite all the things I do for her physically, she has done so much more with her support, love, excitement and joy of life than I could ever repay. This service project was intended to help her more in her life, but I think instead it has shaped my life in too many ways to count. I know that through his example and dependence on me, I can always give my best and surpass each new towering peak. I can achieve my dreams and desires without regrets because I will give my best for myself and most importantly for her.
