The Black Death began in 1347 AD and ended in 1351 AD Europe has suffered a dramatic decline due to the spread of an unstoppable virus sent from Central Asia. As the virus spread through cities, villages and towns, the corpses of victims affected by the virus began to pile up and congregate. As more bodies began to pile up, they were thrown into the pits (Wilson 438). There were many effects of the Black Death in Europe. The three most important effects of the Black Death were that land became worthless, 1/3 to 1/2 of the European population died, and Jews were blamed for the epidemic and were targeted by Europeans. This had an economic impact on Europe. The Black Death began in Central Asia. It came from southern China and traveled along the Silk Road. It crossed Central Asia, India and even the Middle East (Stock Vol.4). Later, scientists discovered that the cause of the onset of the Black Death was ships and transport ships, which had flea-infested rats on board. India was deeply affected, resulting in 13 million deaths (Wells 1097). The most common disease during the Black Death was bubonic plague. A person can contract the virus only when a flea, which is already infected, bites a person or when there is a cut in the person's skin through which the bacteria can pass. People who have been infected may have fever, headache, and chills (Wells 1097). Bubonic plague was painful and had swollen lymph nodes. The inside was black, filled with blood and pus, and looked like it would burst at any moment (Bowers 132). In 1546 Girolamo Fracastoro, an Italian doctor, proposed a theory on the transmissibility of the plague. He explained how it was possible for fleas to spread by jumping from one host to another (Arco...... in the center of the paper......, a Jewish doctor said he had poisoned the wells. In Basel, Stuttgart, Dresden and other German cities burned the Jews (Economists 33). This began the rise of anti-Semitism, several cities accused the Jews of poisoning their water supplies. Groups of people killed about two thousand Jews as well the Jews, who took 6 days (Ed 438). Agnolo di Tura had to bury five of his children in graves that were dug. Since there were more piles of dead, more graves were created (Saylor 10). of the population due to the Black Death led many people across Europe to persecute the Jews The numerous deaths in Europe allowed the availability of land, decreasing the value of the land land no longer had any value. As the economy collapsed, it seemed as if the world was truly coming to an end.
