The world is changing with the advancement of technology. People in our society, including teenagers, adults, and the elderly, are addicted to computers, television, cell phones, video games, and automobiles. This addiction is making them sedentary. Going back in history, the human body is made for hunting, farming and housework, but the advancement of technology is making us sedentary. Sedentary lifestyles are leading to an increase in chronic health conditions and increased all-cause mortality. The human body is reacting to this change in nature by becoming less immune to numerous chronic health conditions. Over the past decades, numerous studies, both observational and experimental, have examined and demonstrated that physical activity significantly reduces morbidity and mortality. Moderate to vigorous physical activity helps improve a person's cardiorespiratory fitness which in turn helps reduce the risk of chronic health conditions including cardiovascular disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Furthermore, numerous studies have shown that physical activity or cardiorespiratory fitness reduce morbidity and mortality regardless of body weight. India, known as the diabetes capital, comprises a large cohort of people with diabetes, with normal BMI. Low physical activity or reduced cardiorespiratory capacity could be the main reason for the cause of diabetes in this cohort. Physical activity prevents weight gain or helps control weight by increasing energy expenditure. Although most studies have shown that physical activity prevents morbidity and mortality regardless of weight, the range of benefits varies among various groups stratified by age, sex, race, and BMI. Also, different dose of physical... half of paper... and elastin. Studies have shown that exercise prevents changes in collagen and elastin that lead to stiffness. Exercise also prevents the accumulation of advanced glycation end product, which increases with age and is known to cause stiffness. There is strong evidence that exercise causes collateral growths of the arteries in the heart muscles. The mechanism behind this is attributed to angiogenesis-like stem cells. Populations suffering from atherosclerosis or other similar damage to the vessels may benefit from exercise as it leads to an increase in collateral growths. Last but not least mechanism, which helps in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, are microRNAs. Different microRNAs have different mechanisms and consequences. MicroRNAs 21 lead to increased fibrosis. MicroRNAs 29 help promote angiogenesis. 126 microRNAs are involved in improving ventricular compliance.
