I poured my first cup of coffee of the day and anxiously searched for a weather report that could predict with any degree of accuracy how bad this storm would be. I had to decide whether to go to work or stay home. My heart sank when I pulled back the living room curtains and saw that the snow had already started to fall. I decided it would be in my best interest to get to work and prepare for the several hours of backbreaking shoveling that awaited me during the day. As I watched the snow pile up, I decided it was time to get dressed and go outside to find the shovel and get ahead of what would be a significant snowfall. I hated leaving the warmth of home, but if I had kept up with the times maybe I wouldn't have suffered so much the next day. As I walked out the door, the smell was clean and crisp.
