One of the most important themes in Acts is leadership. Throughout the book of Acts there are two important characters who reveal the theme of leadership. These two characters are Peter and Paul and in the twenty-eight books they become leaders of God's people. Peter is portrayed as a leader at the beginning of the book. When Judas betrays Jesus in Acts chapter 1, Peter steps forward and takes charge. “For,” said Peter, “it is written in the book of Psalms: “'Let his place be abandoned; let there be no one living there,' and: “'Let another take his place' (Acts 1:20). He was very courageous in stepping forward and leading God's people even after the tragic loss of Judah. God was definitely using Peter to perform His miracles. He was called by the Lord to preach his miracles and his truth. Through Peter and the church, God's work of bringing wholeness and salvation was accomplished. God was working immensely through his disciples. The theme of leadership is evident throughout the Acts. Paul and Peter were extraordinary leaders who continued to contribute to the early church even during times of persecution, sin, and conflict. Peter shows his leadership in chapter three of Acts, verses seventeen through twenty: “Now, Israelite brothers, I know that you have acted ignorantly, as your leaders did. But this is how God brings about what he predicted through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, therefore, and turn to God, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you, Jesus." This quote shows how Peter was a leader and how great a leader he actually was in telling viewers about lead... middle of paper... also about lead. A leader is anyone who plants seeds with God that will cause that person to become a person that He makes grow The reason I chose leadership for this assignment is because reading the text three different times during the semester, leading was the most evident moment for me. Through Paul and Peter and also the other apostles, they showed the maxim leadership from whom my information came. They were known to spread the Word of God to all of God's people. They were successful in performing miracles and could not have done so without the Holy Spirit working in them. The topic of leadership touched me too, because I too feel the vocation to be a leader. As a business major who wants to own my own business one day, I will be the leader. The book of Acts is almost like a guide to spiritual leadership that all Christians should consider.
