Fahrenheit 451 ReportDuring the 1900s many Americans observed that violence was not a new event that had occurred. It has been proven that due to the violent events of the 1960s, this was the most violent decade of the century. On December 7, 1941, a Japanese plane attacked the naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The next day the United States declared war. It was precisely then that their lives revolved around the violence of not only war but also the conflicts that citizens had with each other. In the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury we gave Americans clues that not only the battle between warring nations, but also conflicts between communities and ordinary people will negatively affect the country, as we make it part of our lives and accept it , we become entertained by it and consider it a necessity to perform. In the book Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury explained to us that violence has largely been made to be accepted into a part of our lives. In the story Mrs. Phelps had said “Oh, they come and go, they come and go. Finnegan out again, Army called Pete yesterday. He'll be back next week. The army said it: Quick war. Forty-eight hours and everyone at home. I'm not worried, I'll let Pete worry. I'm not worried.” (Bradbury). Mrs. Phelps clearly was well adjusted to what was happening in the world. It became so well known that people stopped worrying and made violence a part of their lives and a normal routine. Also in an article by Christopher Jencks he describes how since 1960 violence can exist in human beings as a result of evolution. Evolution is the process of growth, violence has had great... middle of paper... began to collapse with all the unrest that has occurred, Ray Bradbury suggests that society will eventually shut down the world as soon as we begin disturb the peace with which the world began. What is the definition of violence? Violence is widely known as an unjust intentional exercise of force or power. We as a community should be able to refrain from intending to disrupt the peace that the world began with. Ray Bradbury is trying to warn the world and stop violent actions before they begin. He explains how he thinks the world is starting to fall apart and tries to stop it from happening. Everyone can prevent and allow violence and conflicts in the world. We shouldn't provoke unnecessary conflict because maybe one day everyone will enjoy violence so much that we will have forgotten what the world is like.
