What are some ways you handle absence in your life? Sometimes people do things they like to take their mind off someone. They plan certain activities with friends or go do things alone. Some even move on and replace their loved one or friend. It can be very painful to accept; however, many will say that it is a part of life. Just like death. Death can cause feelings of absence and can be a difficult feeling to control. In the poems, Emily Bronte's Remembrance, Thomas Hardy's The Darkling Thrush, and Ah, Are You Digging in My Grave? by Thomas Hardy, all show how they deal with the absence, or something missing, of a loved one, a sign of hope, or the knowledge that people remember the speaker. Emily Bronte in Remembrance is worried about forgetting and moving on without her love. I could easily say that everyone loses someone, so listen up. I have a better intention.
