As I sit and think about life as it is, I try to imagine what this world would be like if it had never been invented. We use the computer for our banking transactions, which would mean that without the help of the computer we would have to keep all our money under the bed or as was done in the West when it was kept in bank vaults and the accumulations noted. When I look at my phone I am amazed at how far we have come in what seems like a short period of time. I'm not that old, but I remember the days when people used pagers to keep in touch with each other. There were some people with cell phones, but they were very big at the time. Now, when I look at phones, the computer has really made the phone more important than it would be without it. You no longer have to just have a computer at home, now you can have a laptop thinner than a book or a cell phone with the Internet already in the computer. This has allowed families who may be thousands of miles apart to see each other and stay in touch via their phones. No longer do they have to rely on the phone or simply a conversation, the computer has made it possible to see the other individual no matter where they are.
