Lady Brett Ashley was a very important character in the book The Sun Also Rises. She had everything, she was pretty and four guys were looking at her. Four guys!!!! He was independent, he could do whatever he wanted. However she was definitely not sympathetic, nor would she be a good role model for anyone because yes, she treats her male friends cruelly. Let's start with her relationships with guys. She can pretty much get whatever she wants, they will do anything for her, because they find her so attractive. Even if they want something in return, she will be happy to give it to them, she has everything. That's all she does anyway, she goes from guy to guy like she doesn't even care. Which, by the way, is not the case. Basically she's everyone's romantic interest, everyone is in love with her. The difference is how he feels about you. Because it has such an effect on men, it also has another ability. He can destroy their relationships with each other and turn them against each other simply by sleeping with them. Now we'll look at Brett's take on things. He is fully aware of what he is doing, yet continues to do it anyway. He wanders from boy to boy, coming and going. She can't be with anyone, but claims she can't be alone. She uses men as an escape from her attractions to other men. Mainly her lost love during the war and her feelings towards Jake even though he can't give her what she wants. Men may care about her, but she doesn't care about them. His personality is just what it seems, as demonstrated by the above evidence. She's a femme fatale. It is a destructive force for men. She realizes it. She left her relationship with Pedro even though she loved him because she knew she wasn't fit to... middle of paper... push him away. So now I'll try to summarize Brett Ashley. She is a ridiculously beautiful, rich and incredibly attractive woman. In fact, she is so compelling that she poses a danger to the men around her. He goes back and forth, having affairs with all four of his love interests. It tears their friendships apart as they become jealous of each other over their relationship with Brett. He is independent and does not take orders from anyone. Even though she finds a new boyfriend every two days, she is lonely and can't stand being alone. She rarely considers the feelings of others except herself, she really has no sympathy. She lost her true love in the war and is now only truly in love with Jake, but a war wound has left him unable to give her what she wants, so she gets it from everyone else. She's not someone I would look up to, but I admire her independence.
