While this is true for some, it is not true for everyone. Some would say that money isn't everything, as long as they are happy. While this is true and happiness should have great power over people's lives, for the most part, college will bring happiness to people. There is a large percentage that people who attend college will still benefit as much if not more than those who don't attend college. As mentioned above, college is not for everyone and Isabel Sawhill and Stephanie Owen show this well in their essay "Should Everyone Go to College?". Owen and Sawhill state that people are actually doing some individuals a disservice by telling them that everyone needs to go to college (Page 209, paragraph 1). In “Should Everyone Go to College?” they say this because they think it is necessary for people to think about their likely educational and career paths before investing so much time and money in secondary education (Page 212, Paragraph 1). This is true, people shouldn't invest much of themselves before they've thought about where they want it to take them. While not everyone has to go to college to benefit academically, financially, and socially, for most, it certainly will only make them grow as a person and become more
