Leon and Snowball were both detested by their opponents or leaders above and beside them. The leaders not only detested them, but exiled them. Snowball's exile was a terrible misfortune and he was close to death. It all began when “nine enormous dogs wearing brass-studded collars came bounding into the stable. They rushed straight at Snowball, who sprang from the house just in time to escape their snapping jaws” (Orwell, 57) which sent him to the outskirts of the farm and he was never seen again. While Trotsky, on the other hand, decided to take over the leadership when there was no one else. When “Lenin fell ill and died, Trotsky was easily defeated by Stalin. In 1927 he was expelled from the party. (Leon Trotsky, 1) Where did the internal exile and in the past the external one end up. Before they were banned, however, they had some advantages in remaining in the party. Both had great intelligence and arrogance. Snowball's skill in writing commandments and in general was a great thing for the farm. While Trotsky's intelligence allowed a "decisive role in the communist seizure of power." “ (Leon Trotsky, 1) and a resulting arrogance that made it difficult for him to make friends, let alone keep them. In conclusion, Leon and Snowball varied in the beginning and the cause and encouragement in the society they influenced. Both still had some strengths
