Topic > The development of global experiences with…

Historically, countries that have colonies were powerful global economic and political players. Former colonies are located on continents such as Africa, India and Oceania. Thanks to colonies, European countries became more powerful, for example the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Belgium. The main purpose for obtaining colonies was to obtain more useful resources and improve the economic situation. Despite the collapse of the colonial system, former colonies and capitalist countries have a huge impact on development, not only in former colonies, but also in capitalist countries. Nowadays, most of the former colonies are called underdeveloped countries, and this is the main reason why the former colonies still cooperate with their former colonizers. Cooperation has not always been smooth, so there are different experiences in cooperation with former colonies. Not only today there are problems and achievements of developing countries cooperating with former colonies. One day, the citizens of the colonies were not open to the ideas and actions of the colonizers. Colonizing leaders and other political actors wanted to uplift Native people by establishing Western education and modern science. From a certain point of view, it was a good goal to help develop knowledge and provide education despite the standard of living. But on the other hand, the colonizers' desire to develop a colony society, damage its traditional environment, reduce the significance of their own traditions by not respecting them. This was not the only negative effect of more developed countries' aid to less developed countries from a historical perspective. In his day the colonies accused the colonizers of slavery. But as time passed, the colonies began to defend European involvement in... middle of paper... help from outside, but if the aid provided was organized correctly, the less developed countries could develop more on their own with a little help from the outside. This type of aid control would only strengthen former colonies and promote the common development of the world. To summarize, when we look at the experience of developed countries with former colonies, it is important to look back in history, because it provides an explanation of why developed countries focus on specific former colonies and the type of relationships they previously had. Historically, colonies were under the strong control of the colonizers, because they controlled not only production but also the political elite. Nowadays developed countries try to update that historical situation, but with more attention, because they have no right to put these former colonies under any system of control.
