Motivation by definition from a dictionary is “the act or instance of motivating, or providing a reason for acting in a certain way: I do not understand what his motivation was for leave her work. (Dictionary.com) My definition of motivation and everyone else's is a little different, we see motivation as the aim to do something that requires a lot of work, sweat and tears, something that is difficult but must be done regardless What. Well, I firmly believe that Beowulf has the same definition that I and the others have. He is a strong boy, very strong and uses his strength and integrity to kill three evil monsters, Grendel, Grendel's Dam and a dragon. The three motivations are: reason, honor and finally integrity. “Beowulf goes to Heorot because he wants to test his skill and courage against the monster and show Grendel how powerful the Geats are.” (Enotes) Obviously Beowulf, a big and strong warrior, is afraid to fight this monster, I mean who wouldn't be.
