Mainland Chinese people have widely recognized the topic of Moral and National Education (MNE), but the topic is new to Hong Kong citizens. This additional subject proposed by the Hong Kong Education Bureau aims to help students build moral and national personalities systematically and sustainably, as well as build student identity in different aspects, in order to achieve all-round development of the person [1] . However, a book titled “Teaching Manual on National Conditions of China Model” [2], published by the National Education Service Center with government funding, attracted the attention of local Chinese. Two forces rose up and argued against the topic of abandoning multinationals in the school curriculum. Ultimately, the government failed to realize the multinational and postponed the plan. This essay will provide the advantages and disadvantages of having a national education in Hong Kong as well as conclusions and recommendations on the topic. Having a multinational can increase social cohesion. This subject aims to enable students to "appreciate the richness and beauty of the country through observation of its landscape and its antiquities" [1]. Knowing the country from the positive side, citizens will be willing to be part of it. This can create a sense of belonging. As proposed by McMillan and Chavis [3], sense of belonging refers to the feeling of being part of the group and sacrificing oneself to contribute to the group. Thus, building a sense of belonging can involve more citizens in society, in which they are willing to participate and contribute to social affairs, and ultimately increases social cohesion.
