This experience provided the opportunity to learn about the client's needs and how the mother's perspectives may be different. This activity helped me apply everything I learned during my first semester of occupational therapy. I also had the opportunity to review clients' medical records before each session, which helped me understand why the therapist chooses the activities he or she has planned for each client; something really interesting was learning about the process of getting insurance approval and the different legislations; and how a minor mistake when submitting documents for approval can prevent the client from receiving the help they need; and all other components related to this process. During the documentation of the play activity I felt really at ease, since the day before I had talked with the therapist about who would be the right client to observe and, of course, the mother's willingness to share her version of the story that I thought was a key element to completing this activity. Filling out the form was quite easy as it was self-explanatory and very specific about what information I needed to record and what to look for while doing so. Something I need to improve is my interviewing skills; I was anything but natural. I was also a little disorganized while taking notes, perhaps because I didn't want to miss anything important
