Topic > A Case Study Report on a Child - 1767

The child I wrote my case study report on is named Malachi. Malachi is two and a half years old. His height is 29 inches and his weight is 26 pounds. This is the average weight of a child of his age. She has short curly black hair which she gets from her mother. He has round brown eyes and a short nose that he got from his father. He is a very physically active child. He is developing well physically for his age. Sometimes he can be sociable, but most of the time he shakes or nods his head. I believe he does this because he doesn't have time to interact with other people at home besides his mother and occasionally his father. He tends to be on the social side, despite his activity. He doesn't have many hobbies, but he likes to drive his plastic toy truck. He also has this plastic key ring that he carries with him constantly. When he is alone, he will simply count his keys. From my observation. He does this to keep himself busy because no one physically looks at him. His family has a dog named Lines who he likes to play with all the time. I think the reason he gets attached to the dog is because the dog is on his level. The dog will allow him to climb on him, pull his ears and tail and jump on him. The dog is so carefree with Malachi that I think Lines makes Malachi want to interact with him because he can do whatever he wants and there are no consequences. His family composition consists of his mother working during the day, so he attends daycare most of the week. This has a huge effect on Malachi. Since he is in daycare most of the week, he doesn't get the right amount of attention from his mother. When he comes home after picking him up from daycare, he feeds him, ... middle of paper ... he might have the same problems he is facing now. I know that seeing it firsthand will lead me to be more cautious and analyze my students better. I will do my best to be a structured but caring teacher at the same time. I know that no matter where I teach, there will be cultural influences and each of my students will be different. I will have to understand where they come from and how to meet all their needs to the best of my ability. I know that some of my students may not have an active parent or parents in their lives, which causes them some behavioral problems just like Malachi. I have to deal with their behavioral problems in a calm manner, just like Malachi's mother. I also know that as a teacher I will face many problems, some within my control, while others not so much. I know that when I teach I will think of Malachi and this case study.
