All friends from Nepal who took ESL course in the past said that it was too difficult to understand and very difficult to get a decent grade. If you don't pay close attention to the course from the beginning, any course will be difficult, not just the ESL course. To get a better grade, the student should pay more attention from the first day of class. It is very important to know the lesson plan and understand its objective. You must carefully follow the instructions given by the professor. Always try to include all the requirements mentioned in the assignments while writing the paper. The student must attend lessons regularly; participate in all class and blackboard discussions and any other activities required by the program. Beyond that, you need to be an active listener and take notes when the professor highlights a topic or material as important. An ESL student like me who does all these activities doesn't have to worry about the grade.
