The literal term “atheism” in Greek means “without gods”. For me, attending a Christian high school and college, I was surrounded by Christian people, so exploring this new culture I knew would be a challenge and a difference in my life. To start, I studied some facts about atheism because I wanted to be able to learn things from Braydon's perspective. A misconception of atheists is that they became atheists because they are angry at God. This is a myth since atheists are atheists because they see no evidence of the existence of a God. Although it may seem like they do not know the purpose of life, atheists they often say that they are always looking for the purpose of life in the mundane world. Atheism is on the rise in America today as it has seen a nearly 1% increase in five years. With all these facts and numbers, it seems that atheists are just a growing group of closed-minded people.
