I remember that cloudy Monday walking to school excited because I knew baseball practice would begin that day. I got up super early with excitement to watch baseball videos and made sure all my gear was packed multiple times. The school day was tough precisely because I was so anxious to outdo all the competition. After the last bell rang I walked towards the field together with all the other players with the same goal as me, to be part of the team. I gave everything I had and was sure the coaches knew what I was made of. I returned home with hope in my heart that I would definitely make it. The next day at school I made sure the first thing I did was check the bulletin board to see if the list had already been posted. Sure enough, the roster was posted right in the center, held up by four glittering silver tacks. My eyes scanned the paper, repeatedly searching for my name. I couldn't believe it, I didn't make the team. I sat in class all day just thinking about what I could have done differently. All year I wanted to be part of the team and now I'm facing conflict ...
