If we first looked at the main conflict theory on the issue of poverty in the United States, we would find that conflict is inevitable in any group or society and even if the United States is the first In a country in the world (i.e. a developed, capitalist and industrial country) the problem of poverty still exists. Conflict theorists argue that injustice and inequality are the source of conflicts that spread throughout a society. Conflict theorists state that conflicts in a society are the result of unequally distributed resources and power in the society, where some members have more money, goods, and prestige than others in the society. In some cases, the rich have been seen to protect their positions by using the power they have accumulated to keep the less fortunate in their place. From the point of view of the poor it seems that the rich have all the opportunities in life, they have all the good things in life. This makes people poor or in poverty jealous and desperate, at which point the poor will do anything
