I followed Jett as we walked to the center of the bus. I could already tell how eagerly Jett was approaching Leilani. I guess I have no reason to deny having done the same thing years ago. It wasn't something I wanted to repeat. "Hey guys!" Leilani smiled, running her hand through her faded pink hair. Strange... they seemed much brighter when we came on board. Leilani had a knack for standing out. He was one of those people who knew he was crazy and no one would ever question it. Even if they did, it would put them in their place. "Hey!" Jett smiled at Leilani, quickly taking his usual seat next to her. As usual, I sat behind them. "AS!" I leaned over the seat, smiling at them. "What's new today?" Leilani was _always_ caught up in everything, whether it was something to do with school, celebrities, music, movies; you say it, she knew it. “Good,” Leilani patted her legs, looking up at me and then at Jett. “I heard we are going to have… wait, wait… a talent show!!!” She laughed. When he finished his sentence, he threw his hands in the air. "A talent show? In our school?" Jett's eyes were wide. "Are you serious?" The words slipped out of my mouth before I knew it. Leilani nodded. "Didn't you read the online newsletter today? It was on the front page," he frowned, looking between us. "You two really need to start reading this! What if there's something important in it?" I sighed. “We obviously never read it, Leilani,” I laughed. “Now tell us more about the talent show!” Leilani's face shone again. "Oh! That's right! It will take place at the end of the school day in the auditorium!""Do we know anyone who competes?" Jett asked. Leilani giggled. "We could."Both Jett and I looked... at the center of the card... we could have had it all_!" He sang, laughing. I crossed my arms. "It was _Someone like you_, for your information," I looked away once more. It wasn't my fault my sister left some sheet music on the counter. Leilani rolled her eyes. “Jaron, come on. Ignore it. It's just annoying, isn't it," His smile came back to me. "So! What song will you sing?" "Song? Sing? You just told me I was going to be in a talent show and you expect me to already know a song?!" I pulled my knees up to my chest. "Leilani, you're killing me, you know that?" Leilani shrugged, "Why not do Adele again? " I shook my head, glancing over at Jett. "Seeing his reaction, I'd rather not," I groaned. "I'd rather not do it at all." "Please, Jaron? You won't regret it!" I sighed, looking out the window as we pulled into the school parking lot. I had a _long_ day ahead of me..
