Chapter Discussion Peering into a child's emotional and physical activities may be possible with pedagogical documentation that sheds light on more similar behaviors (Dahlberg, 2013). Pedagogical documentation refers to the study of teaching and learning which refers to the record of daily activities that includes people, places and events to gain deeper insight into children's lives (Fleet, 2011). The pedagogical documentation was developed in the 1970s and 1980s by teachers of nursery schools and nursery schools in the municipality of Reggio Emilia in Italy, and then spread to other parts of the world (Anne Wien, 2013). Pedagogical documentation is a kind of register that provides comprehensive information about children and their mental processes. This recording is presented in terms of behaviors captured in images, videos, artifacts, written and audio recordings (Anne Wien, 2013). A collection of documented material serves as a great tool for combined thinking when others share these experiences. It's not just about the image of an action, but also about a deeper understanding of what's going on in these children's minds, the emotional battle going on in their minds, and the learning experience they get from such movements and behaviors (Dahlberg, 2013). Pedagogical documentation also offers a deeper experience into children's lives, marked by innocence and many untold stories (Anne Wien, 2013). It further reveals the behaviors of these children by calming the curiosity of teachers and parents regarding their actions. This realization leads to the expansion of understanding of these children and their little world.
