The Diabetes Prevention and Control Program plans to require individuals to use a diabetes registry; continue to support and promote among benefactors; and develop prevention-education resources for patients (Diabetes Prevention and Control Program). Most of these programs, however, do not do enough to reveal and address the reasons behind the poor health of people living in rural areas. More programs need to focus on building stronger healthcare systems in the country. Training existing health workers is not enough, we need to ask for more health facilitators and local community health workers in the hardest to reach villages. Having hospitals and health clinics means nothing when there is no infrastructure to allow people to leave their villages to reach them. Providing assistance should not be the only goal, but also ensuring that there is a way to get the most out of the job
