Like nearly all other professionals today, automotive technicians must be comfortable with computer-based equipment. Cars are more computerized than ever. It takes more than just mechanical know-how and using a wrench to become a certified automotive technician. Experienced technicians can work anywhere in the country with the right mindset and attitude. Indisputably the more educated you are, the better your chances of finding work. You'll also learn that most of what you need to know will come from hands-on work, such as working in a shop, or from observing others do it firsthand. Like everything, it starts with the high school diploma. If you don't have at least a high school diploma, not many employers will hire you to work for and represent their company. The more training you have, the more marketable you will be to employers (auto mechanic). The next step forward would be to attend a community college, technical college, post-secondary vocational schools, or AYES (Automotive Youth Education Systems). The AYES program represents a new approach to hiring and training automotive technicians. This is a high school and college partnership with dealerships across the country to fill the many open service positions by preparing students for entry level positions at dealerships. (Gater) One of the biggest benefits of this program is that you get real-life work experience listening to customers and working on their cars, with a mentor by your side, and you can have an 8-week paid summer. The next step in the education process is to obtain certificates and become certified. This is the number one part that distinguishes one person from another. There... in the middle of the paper... or the rotors. so the technician should tell her to take it to the hare shop so he can take a look at it, after that he flies the car with a lift and has the front wheels come off, the first thing he notices is that the rotor has a lot of ruts , not a bad thing, just shows some wear. The next thing he will do is check the wear of the pads, after finding out that new pads are only needed and the rotors turned on a lathe, he will explain to the customer the process and how long it will take. Then you will have to choose the appropriate tools to carry out this work. Once you have finished you will need to fill out and write a service form, anyone out there working on anything other than their own car should always fill out a service form, this will ensure a good paper trail and will be useful if anyone wishes to attempt to bring a claim lawsuit against you or doesn't want to pay bills on time.
