In the third phase the conflict from the second phase has been resolved and there is now more effective conflict management within the team. There is a higher level of trust and commitment because we have been able to resolve conflicts by the second phase and there is a greater willingness to cooperate (Wheelan 2016). The goal of this phase is to promote cooperation and more clearly define the roles and organization of the team (Wheelan 2016). There is less competition or desire for status at this point and there is more open communication, positive relationship building, and focus on the task at hand (Wheelan 2016). For my team, phase three took place during weeks seven through nine. This was something that happened quickly and easily for our team. At this point our relationships were solidifying and we felt even more comfortable with each other. Our roles were becoming clearly defined naturally by our strengths.
