I want to pursue a career in multicultural community counseling, as I seek to fill the absence of passionate, empathetic leaders in building stronger, safer communities. I am applying to the community-based block program at SDSU, because I want to develop cross-cultural knowledge about how to be therapeutic for others. My hope is to earn a Master's degree in Counseling that prepares me to work in disadvantaged urban schools. I hope to gain the skills necessary to work with historically disadvantaged and low-income communities. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and successful life. By being a counselor, I will continue to empower young people to reach their full potential and encourage my community to engage civically. I believe that together we can build a stronger and safer world
