Topic > Healthcare systems in Finland, Afghanistan and Norway

The healthcare system in general is a very important issue. According to WHO, a good health system provides quality services to all people, when and where they need them. The exact configuration of services varies from country to country, but in all cases requires a stable funding mechanism, such as a well-trained and adequately paid workforce; reliable information on which to base decisions and policies; well maintained facilities and logistics to provide quality medicines and healthcare services (WHO a) This says it all in my opinion. Good attentions to provide healthcare all over the world. The concept of health is very complex. We all understand its meaning in different ways. The healthcare system in Finland is a foregone conclusion in many respects. In this task it is supposed to introduce healthcare systems in three countries. One developed, one underdeveloped and our country. I have chosen to present not only Finland, but also Afghanistan and Norway. The reason why I chose Afghanistan is my current place of work. I work as a military nurse in the Finnish Defense Forces and I have many colleagues (soldiers) who are in Afghanistan at the moment to protect the peace and help in the reconstruction of Afghanistan. It will be an interesting journey to try to find out more about the local healthcare system. And why did I choose Norway? During the many years I have been working as a nurse I have heard many times how in Norway everything is better than here in Finland. So I looked online just to look for some information and it seemed pretty interesting about the healthcare system they have. It will be interesting to compare the healthcare systems of Finland and Norway. So, will there be similarities or will there just be differences between countries2. HE... middle of paper... quick, I think most Finns still rely on the public healthcare system. It's still affordable and works pretty well. The primary (and/or public) healthcare system should be available to all people around the world. It is one of everyone's primary needs. It is quite sad that this is not the case, especially in underdeveloped countries. And there are many countries that fall into that category. During this assignment I thought about the healthcare system both globally and locally. Underdeveloped countries are in a position that requires our attention. I have to be grateful to the kind of healthcare system we have here in Finland. Even though we sometimes have to wait a while to get medical help, and you don't always get what you want from public health care, think about those who are in great need and are not getting any help due to the current situation of the nation..
