My first contact when I enter my patients' room is to do the basic introduction, but I go further, I take a chair and sit right next to them, I I reach out and touch them on my hand and listen to them. I want my patients to know that I am listening to them, I want to know their personal value system, along with what they believe spiritually and what they believe ethically along with what they want, by doing so I can get to know them better and evaluate them as an individual. I rejoice when I see their face light up because they've found a new friend, someone who will not only listen but also do what they're told, I find out what's needed, I write it down, and I do everything in my power to make it happen. so that it happens.
