We experience countless events and actions that can shape our behavior and personality. These experiences influence our critical thinking and perspective on our lives. Some events can bring positive aspects into our lives and bring great opportunities. However, traumatic events such as teen dating violence can mentally scar the victim for life. This leads to the question of what teen dating violence means. Dating violence is the abuse of one partner in the relationship by another partner. Dating violence can range from physical abuse, mental abuse, digital abuse, and/or sexual abuse. Physical abuse may consist of pushing, punching, shoving, choking, etc. Mental abuse can include insults to one's self-esteem, manipulation, harassment, threats, restrictions on what one can or cannot do, etc. Digital abuse is the use of technology and/or social media to gain control over your partner. Such abuse can range from asking for passwords, to sexting without consent, to cell phone tracking, to cyberbullying, etc. Sexual abuse forces a partner to engage in a sexual act without
