Topic > English is not just a difficult subject - 1042

Once you start school you are given many subjects to study. There are several subjects you should learn; History, science, mathematics and English to name a few. And as you go through elementary school, high school, and college you are learning all of these subjects in addition to others. Most people decide which subject is the most difficult based on the amount of homework assigned or even the time spent studying and memorizing it. But English is in a category of its own. Without English, none of the other subjects would even exist on paper or in our language. And that's just one reason it can be a difficult topic. There is a lot of weight in whether you are able to understand and understand the language you are native to. So it would be fair to say that English is not only a difficult subject, but that English is the most difficult subject of study for humanity. In the English language there are many different types of words that mean the same thing or there are numerous words that mean the exact same thing just slightly different. It can be written in many different ways and even pronounced in unusual ways, especially depending on your accent. And this is where some of the problems occur. You see, if you just learn from spelling and then try to pronounce the word without assistance you might end up saying it incorrectly. For example, the word "hard" should be pronounced as "tuf". But at the same time if you look at the word "dough" it's not pronounced the same way. Two words that ultimately have the same word, yet sound completely different. (Beare, Kenneth) If you just go by the way the word appears, you might end up pronouncing them the same. But then there are those namesakes……medium of paper……and English language. And with all the many exceptions to the rules and all the different concepts to learn, it can make learning more difficult for newcomers. Or subtle wording or underlining words that make it more pronounced or bold. Or simply the way the wording should be set up in a sentence. Most of these are things that natives of the language don't realize due to how often it is used. But it can be a very complicated and confusing process to learn and understand the rules and all the words that break that rule. To conclude, English is very important to the American way of life and among other nations that have English is their native language. But it can be a very confusing and complex system to learn and for people unfamiliar with the language it can seem like a truly impossible task. This is why English is the most difficult subject for humanity to study.
