I can understand the reasoning and the importance of volunteering. It is a valuable experience for everyone. Doing 12 hours wasn't as terrible as doing the requisite amount of community service I did for the clubs I was a part of. Even then, since I had time, I would have done more. Some of them were not noted because they didn't seem right. I prefer to do things reasoning with myself and with my heart. Doing community service was my choice and I don't need to be rewarded or given credit for choosing to do it. Even though I struggle to find time to volunteer due to work and other obligations, I still love volunteering. There are times when I never see the impact my work has had.
