The world is constantly trying to invent and find new forms of entertainment. That said, people often find pleasure in observing animals. When you think about how animals are used in the entertainment industry, it seems that in most cases they are mistreated. Owners of such neglected animals lack the care and knowledge needed to provide for them. This is a social issue because we not only use animals for our entertainment, but we eradicate them from their natural habitats and take them away from their families. Problem identification: the problem to be identified is obvious; is the mistreatment of animals used in the entertainment industry. Animals are removed from their natural habitats or bred in captivity to provide us humans with sources of entertainment. The article "Ten Fast Facts About Animals in Entertainment" explains that most animals bred in captivity will not be released back into the wild. In fact, when a facility raises too many animals, they are sometimes sold to laboratories, traveling shows, canned hunting facilities, or to private individuals ("Ten Fast Facts"). Private individuals who ask questions about wild animals almost always do not have the necessary skills to care for them and this leads to neglect of the animals. When bred in captivity, the animals are unaware of their natural habitat and how to interact socially with their species. The article "Animals Used as Entertainment" lists rodeos, circuses, bullfights, horse racing, cockfighting, dog fighting, and zoos as examples of the many ways animals are used in entertainment.
