Uniforms in Our Public Schools School uniforms are a logical choice for the public school location. Uniforms prevent students from low-income backgrounds from being singled out for poor-quality or cheap clothing, prevent the use of gang colors, allow certain safety measures, and allow teachers to form an impression of students based on to actions and work rather than dress code choices. School bullying can be reduced by not being able to easily determine more expensive versus less expensive clothing, eliminating the ease with which individuals profile based on income status. Students who regularly mistreat other students based on clothing choices will be eliminated, improving student behavior.
