Many of the reasons behind this have already been discussed in this essay stating the reasons why hard work and career are both more important. One of which is because social status can lead to negative effects in an individual. Through texts such as television films it is often shown how a high social status can ruin one's morals. Films like James Cameron's Titanic show how people with higher social status often lack the ability to show any respect towards those whose social status is lower than theirs.
