Mayella Ewell is a 19 year old girl who is considered white trash and has no education, love or friends. Dolphus Raymond is a wealthy white man married to an African American and has mixed-race children. While these characters may seem different, they share many of the same advantages and disadvantages of human inequality. Mayella Ewell is accusing Tom of rape, when in reality it wasn't him who raped Mayella, but Bob Ewell, her father did it. . “'...there is something in our world that makes men lose their minds: they can...... middle of paper......lla Ewell was a lonely girl and didn't know how to control herself. Everyone in town feels great remorse for Mayella because not only is she alone, but she agrees to grow up as white trash and act as a mother to her younger siblings and a wife to her father. Dolphus Raymond and Mayella Ewell are two characters in To Kill a Mockingbird who share the same advantages and disadvantages of human inequality. Dolphus and Mayella are both white citizens of Maycomb County, which gives them many advantages that African Americans do not have. Although they are white, they both show some sort of compassion for an African American, Mrs. Raymond and Tom Robinson. They can't express it because it's wrong in the racist community and they stifle their love from being shown or seen. If only the Maycomb community could learn how to eliminate human inequality.
