The lawyers know that their tactics will be criticized throughout the entire case. When this is the case, they usually do their best to avoid costly or embarrassing mistakes (cdaa.org). When a murderer is sentenced to death, and ultimately put to death, there is a sense of closure for the victim's family. They know that person will never harm their family or any other family again. If the murderer is sentenced to prison there is a possibility that the prisoner could escape. If they run away, the victim's family is immediately scared. Just knowing that a killer, perhaps with bad intentions, is prowling the streets can be terrifying. The opposite scenario can also be true. If a murderer gets out of prison he may be worried about his life. There may be someone so affected by the crime committed that revenge is the only thing on his mind. If the murderer was sentenced to death and killed, an innocent man who was angry at the possibility of going to prison is saved. If the killer is executed, the man driven by revenge can calm down and know that the job is done
