Over the years, art is becoming a way to express feelings without the need for violence. Ai Weiwei is one of the best-known Protestant artists who made various types of art projects to speak out against the Chinese communist government and the injustices that happened. No violence is used through these art projects because they are simply simply works of art that speak for themselves. Through all this Ai Weiwei is able to raise awareness and convince people to support his causes all over the world. An issue close to my heart concerns the murders and disappearances of women in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Many families are affected every year by the disappearance of their daughters, sisters, mothers and wives. To this day, it is still a mystery who is behind all these crimes, and not many people are willing to take a stand and stop such atrocities. My proposal for a public art project is to build a statue of a woman in some sort of pose showing delicacy and distress.
